Bruckner Society of America
News and Past Events
A Bruckner Society of America Medal of Honor, designed by Julio Kilenyi in 1932 has recently sold on Ebay for $1,030.00.
An attempt by the Society to buy it back was twarted by a higher bid. It is not known how a blank "un-presented" medal got into private hands since all presented medals were inscribed on the back with the recipient's name. The two medals previously presented and now owned by the Society are inscribed. One was presented to Radio Station WEFM in Chicago and one was presented to Otto Klemperer.
Un-presented medals are essentially the property of the Society until such time as a medal is awarded by a vote of the Board of Directors.
All that can be gleaned from the Ebay site is that the buyer is a collector of medals and not a previous buyer of Bruckner memorabilia.
