Aftermuch delay due to the pandemic, The Bruckner Journal is pleased to announce that the next Readers Conference will take place at Yale University in cooperation with the School of Music and Prof. Paul Hawkshaw, co-editor of the New Anton Bruckner Complete Edition, and co-sponsored by the Bruckner Society of America.

Monzer Hourani given honorary Society membership for leadership gift

His contribution helped inaugurate the Society's publication of “Anton Bruckner: Eleven Symphonies,” written by William Carragan and due to be released in the Spring of 2020.


Conductor Jaap van Zweden receives the Bruckner Society Medal of Honor

Jaap van Zweden, the Music Director of the New York Philharmonic was presented with the Bruckner Society of America's Julio Kilenyi Medal of Honor at a post concert reception on May 27, 2019.


The Bruckner Society acquires Robert Heger's conducting score for the Symphony No. 6

The Bruckner Society of America was the successful bidder for a marked up conductor’s score of Bruckner's Symphony No. 6 that was once owned by conductor, Robert Heger.

The Society has scanned the score in order that researchers and Society members will have access to Heger's markings.


A Bruckner Society of America Medal of Honor, designed by Julio Kilenyi in 1932 has recently sold on Ebay for $1,030.00.

An attempt by the Society to buy it back was twarted by a higher bid. It is not known how a blank "un-presented" medal got into private hands since all presented medals were inscribed on the back with the recipient's name.

From a tag sale in Texas to a community Facebook page, the Society acquires a unique piece of its history.


The Bruckner Society releases a major Bruckner translation project

The Bruckner Society of America has now released to its members a collection of historical articles in translations from the original German that will help to clarify the complicated history of the "Bruckner problem."


Bruckner Society donates funds to support the publication of the New Bruckner Edition

The Board of Directors recently voted to provide funding to the MWV in Vienna to support the publication of the New Bruckner Edition.


Bruckner Society donates funds for the restoration of the Bruckner Organ in Linz

The Bruckner Society of America's board of directors have unanimously endorsed a donation for the restoration of the Bruckner Organ in the Old Cathedral (Alter Dom) in Linz.
